Thank You for Volunteering!

FCD is again sponsoring a beer/soda/water booth at SF Pride this year. We are hoping SF Pride will select us for booth as prominent as last year (on McAllister at Polk) (Booth A12B).

After the event is over the net proceeds are divvied up in the form of a grant. We will share this with all the participating clubs based upon their hours worked.

FCD will provide light snacks to keep your blood sugar up and plenty of water to keep you hydrated throughout the day.

This year we are using a time tested workflow, as follows:

ID Checkers / Order Takers – ID Checkers / Order Takers will be the primary point of contact with the public. They will check the validity of ALL Identification Cards, including the date, to verify that the person is able to purchase alcohol. They will take the requests from the public and relay the information to the Order Runners who will bring the product forward to the counter. They will also take payment from the public, and make change out of money aprons. THE WILL NOT TOUCH PRODUCT.

Order Runners – Order Runners will be responsible for pouring beer from the pitchers into cups, bringing the cups forward to the counter when ordered, and finding the correct soda or water ordered and bringing it to the ID Checkers / Order Takers. THEY WILL NOT TOUCH MONEY.

Keg Operators – Keg Operators will be responsible for dispensing beer from the keg/tap system into pitchers, keeping the dispensing area clean, and monitoring when the beer flow becomes foamy or runs out. THEY WILL NOT TOUCH MONEY.

Treasurers Assistants / Bank Runners – The Treasurer Assistants / Bank Runners will be responsible for making sure the ID Checkers / Order Takers have enough small bills at all times AND going to the Treasury periodically to make deposits and get change. THEY WILL NOT TOUCH ANY PRODUCT OR CUPS.

Treasurers* – Morning and Afternoon Treasurers will be responsible for handling the cash, making change, and determining when deposit runs and change runs are to be made.

Booth Captains* – Setup, Morning, Afternoon, and Breakdown Booth Captains will be responsible for all booth operations and dealing with any issues that may arise throughout the day. The primary responsibility of the Setup Captain is to sign for all deliveries of products, cups, and ice as well as set up the booth for operation. The primary responsibility of the Breakdown Captain is to break down the booth, package up all the remaining product for pick up, and wait until the product is picked up AND we are signed out to leave.

According the Alcoholic Beverage Commission, everyone in the booth, WHETHER HANDLING BEER OR NOT, needs to have taken the ABC training within the past 3 years. If you are unsure if your past training is still valid, just email the name on your ID card (which was scanned at the training) to president@foggycity.org, and I will check if your training was recent enough. To avoid sold-out ABC Trainings, the Beverage Team has implemented a reservation system; you will need to visit this site and set up an account to reserve a spot
